Ever since Catherine could remember she wanted to conquer the world, but along the way she had some blocks. At every turn, she was told that she wasn’t clever enough because she didn’t have the right marks. Or, she didn’t have the right ambition and would never be able to achieve her dreams. However, these blocks only lit the flame in her belly, as she has always been a driven and determined woman.
About a month-and-a-half ago Catherine’s life took a turn as she woke up one day like she usually does to go to the gym, and realised that she didn’t want to. She then realised that she might have depression.
Catherine did the brave thing when she decided she would not live her life that way and reached out for help. She is young and wants to achieve all the things she has dreamt of achieving. She believes that asking for help is one of the bravest and most empowering things she has done. It has done her wonders: She now has a healthier mind and is back on track with pursuing her goals.
She wants to encourage others to ask for help when they need it - it is a sign of bravery.
She is now back to her normal self and chooses to Step In Courage every single day and live the Culture Of Brave.

For the South African launch of Culture of Brave, we engaged a few Brand Ambassadors who embody the brand. Team members identified individuals who demonstrated courage and moved forward despite challenges, no matter the circumstance. Our ambassadors come from a diverse range of backgrounds and work in a variety of industries and on a wide range of projects. Every individual has a brave story to share, and as a brand, we would like to hear them. Taking courageous steps to achieve success is something we appreciate. The Culture Of Brave sneakers are named after the attributes of courageous individuals. To us, it is important that our audience can relate to their favourite sneaker and share their brave story of overcoming adversity. We support those who are resilient, courageous, and free-spirited.
What happens to a child that realises a family is not always the way it appears in the movies? After her parents' divorce, Bianca’s mom found herself in devastating and demeaning relationships. Bianca couldn’t understand why her mother started choosing abusive relationships and why she always relapsed into abusive relationships.
It was only at a later stage, when she found herself in a similar situation, that she discovered that it was gender-based violence. The saying ‘Love is blind’ rang true and she was caught in her own personal wilderness, where lies were being spoken over her regarding her place and her position in this world.
She received threats that sent shivers down her back. The stress not only took a tremendous toll on her mentally, emotionally, but also physically. She knew she had to dig deep inside herself to find whatever strength she had to have her own personal exodus.
She decided to reclaim her worth, her identity, her strength. It was a terrifying, yet liberating experience.
Now she Steps In Courage.

Tanned in Tuscany following ancient, metal free techniques, these handmade sneakers are fully lined with sheep or calf leather. The Sardinian cork midsole provides outstanding comfort, which is further enhanced by the Vero Cuoio insole, which allows the shoe to adapt to your feet.
Artisan treatments give the leather uppers, cotton shoelaces, iron eyelets and Margom rubber soles wholly exclusive shades. It's every wrinkle, every scratch, every color fade that tells the story of the object-dye and artisan shoemaking traditions. The focus is on crossbreeding these ancient artisan techniques with modern lines and volumes to create a product that has roots in traditions but looks to the future.

Our Resilient sneakers push boundaries and encourage you to not only overcome, but also become - transformation rooted in surrender and strength.
These sneakers are handmade using white calf leather and feature our trademark wings at the back. Each shoe has been handcrafted by shoemakers in Europe and features a full calf leather upper, inner lining and removable insole all sitting atop a highly durable Margom rubber sole.
These luxury sneakers are finished with C.O.B signature top brass eyelets, our trademark leather wings and “Resilient” silkscreened on the inner tongue.

Our Prepared to Risk sneakers are high-cut, featuring calf leather on the upper, inner lining and removable sole, which creates exceptional comfort.
This gently padded high-cut sneaker sits on a durable Margom rubber sole. Featuring two C.O.B signature top brass eyelets, C.O.B leather wings and “Prepared to Risk” silkscreened on the inner tongue.

These sneakers are our expression of truly uninhibited, Free Souls. Made from calf and sheep leathers, they’re crafted in Europe using eco-friendly, metal free, white wet tanning methods. Hand-stitched with the finest suede and nylon features, each shoe is gently lined with soft sheep’s leather, including the inner sole.
Free Soul sneakers float on a sporty-spirit Freedom Wearlight sole. It features C.O.B wings which represent courage and freedom. The shape of the wings is specifically designed to mirror a pair of feet on the ground.
